TC Brewitz BIO

How did a quiet, piano playing, Swedish girl end up as a recording artist in the San Francisco Bay Area?

TC grew up in and got her early musical influences in a small town on the Swedish West Coast. She studied piano and wrote her first song at age 8, but didn't immediately reach for a career in music. As TC arrived in the United States to finish her master's degree in Psychology she soon found herself immersed in the lively San Francisco music scene. She soon joined the band Implied Five and played many local venues as a singer, keyboard and bass player. While playing with her bands TC continued to write her own material, finding her style as a solo artist.
In the summer of 2004 TC recorded her debut album "Scent of You" at Coast Studios in San Francisco.
It found many friendly ears, among them The www.OwlMag.com:
"A voice that sounds just as lovely, if not more so, in a tongue foreign to these ears. ...TC:s voice and the smooth harmonies of her debut album Scent of You speak easily to the audience that is sure to continue growing."

After the release of "Scent of You" TC spent a couple of busy years of performing in front of ever growing audiences in the US and in Sweden. However, in 2007 TC:s life came to an abrupt halt when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
TC spent most of the year of 2007 going through cancer treatment and trying to keep her life as normal as possible. She is now in full remission and feels committed to use her artistry to raise funds for breast cancer research.

In the spring of 2008 TC appeared on the Stupid Cancer show, an online radio show for and about young cancer survivors. TCs song "December Sky" is featured on the CD compilation of young cancer survivors released in May 2009.

In addition to appearing with her 6 piece band Karmadogs at many San Francisco Bay Area venues, TC maintains her strong ties her heritage and is often seen a the Swedish American events on the West Coast, such as the Swedish American Patriot League and Swedish Women's Educational Association.

In the fall of 2008 TC wrote the film score for the movie " Miya of the Quiet Strength" a one hour documentary about Miya Rodolfo-Sioson, the lone survivor of the 1991 University of Iowa School Shooting.

With new found inspiration TC has once again returned to the recording studio working on her second album "Iceland" with Bay Area producer/composer Chris Houston to be released in the fall of 2009.
